Thor provides some pretty incredible feats, and armed with Stormbreaker he's just that a lot more powerful. He’s knocked around the Destroyer, manhandled Loki, defeated an Aether-armed Malekith, Tore aside Surtur and his armies, matched the Hulk without his hammer, proceeded to go toe to toe with Hela, survived the vacuum of space/the complete power of a neutron celebrity, and wounded Thanos.
The just rival to him is Doctor Stephen Strange. Unusual has pulled off some fairly high-level feats as well. He also wounded Thanos among other activities, and is in fact competent along with his Infinity Stone. The issue here's that Strange hasn't been technically called an Avenger, therefore some may not count him as this kind of.
I’ll briefly remember that Scarlet Witch gets the potential to become a contender for the very best spot aswell, but she’s still keeping herself back. A little more brutality and willingness to flex her magical muscle tissue and she’d be correct up there with the big canines (though even as it really is she threw around Iron Guy, took down Eyesight, and destroyed a fucking Infinity Rock)
At this time he’s the most effective Avenger. My opinion is usually that in Avengers 4, he’s likely to become the one who'll ultimate physically destroy Thanos (with an axe to mind, as was foreshadowed by Thanos himself), and that Cap and Iron Guy are likely to sacrifice themselves to “snap” the gauntlet once again to bring back all of the heroes who had been “snapped” out of existence (however, not the types Thanos killed completely; they’re gone once and for all)
